Thanks to everyone who has attended our brown bag meetings! Your interest and participation has made this a very rewarding project.
During our last meeting John Russell discussed the recent history of GLBT issues in the Hillsborough County Public Library System (you can learn more here). Barbara Cardinale, currently working at the USF Tampa library, stopped by to ask for our input on a GLBT collection and webpage the USF library is putting together, and Dr. Alexander stopped by to elaborate on how these issues affect youth services. Thanks!
Our next brown bag will be this Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 1-2pm in room 2020. I’ll be leading this discussion, and our topic will be Getting Along with Google. I’m going to offer some tips and tricks on using your USF gmail account. If time permits we might also look around Blackboard and WordPress. Please bring your questions and your lunch! (Remember, these informal get-togethers are for students and faculty).
Our next couple of weeks look like this –
February 25 – Professor Kiersten Cox will discuss how to transition from grad school to a professional job. Immediately afterward a candidate for a faculty position will be giving her presentation.
March 4 – Carolyn Edds, a research librarian at the St. Pete Times will discuss some non-Library paths that might be of interest.
Hope to see you there!
